Osteoarthritis among all the different types of arthritis, this is the very common. Almost any person at any age will have this disease dependent upon of some conditions that might lead to the occurence of such disease.

Osteoarthritis occur when there is a breakage as to the cartilage. The cartilage is very important, it protects and covers bones’ ends. When some bits will start to break off then this will lead to a pain that is unexplainable and the joint will start to swell which is called as inflammation.

The cartilage will start to wear out as one will start to gow old and the bones will rub together. Osteoarthritis will occur on different joint location such as on the knees, hips, spine and hands.

Osteoarthritis is classifed as a non-inflammatory arthritis. Since it is not cause initially by any inflammation of the joints but due to the progression that lead to the inflammation to som extent.

Osteoarthritis will not only lead to a person suffering from pain, but it may lead to some complications such as: the joints are loosing their shape and the muscles tend to be weakened.

Osteoarthritis’ symptoms are difficult to discover. This is so because such symptoms do not appear right there and there but due to passage of time these will pop and it might be too late when being discovered. The common symptom is when a grating sound is heard especially the roughened cartilage located in the bones surface will rub together. Bumps and swelling in the feet and fingers are considered as symptom to disease.

Diagnosis and Treatment

When there is already consistent or continuing pain occuring on the joints. then it is recommended to go to a doctor and tell in detail as to the pain and the location where the pain occured. Undergoing X-ray will be most helpful, it is by then that the condition is being confirmed even if there is a need to fully analyze the situation.

It has been found out that for overweight people there is a chance of having osteoarthritis since the joint located in knees and hips are experiencing stress. It is very important to have the right diagnosis, since it is through this that the right treatment will be given.

For treatment, it is advisable to go to a physician for further examination and if it is proven that there is osteoarthritis, then the doctor will give a list of prescription drugs that will be taken in to the body. The drugs might only lessen the pain but not totally eradicate pain and totally cure the person from such disease. However, it is best to ask the doctor for available remedies to choose from.
